Library of the Centre for Foreign Languages and Literatures

The Library supports research and teaching in linguistics and literary studies. It holds over 150,000 volumes and more than 700 serials, 140 of which are currently active, often with online access. The collections, primarily in foreign languages, cover all aspects of linguistics, the history of languages, and European and non-European literatures, including Eastern and Western Europe, the Americas, and Francophone, Anglophone, and Lusophone Africa.

Databases to be discontinued

Please note that the subscription to the following databases will not be renewed and they will no longer be accessible starting 1 January 2026:

Christmas closure

During winter holidays, the Library  will be closed on Monday 22 December 2025. On Tuesday 23 December 2025 the Library will be open from 09:00 to 16:00.

The Library will be closed from Wednesday 24 December 2025 to Tuesday 6 January 2026.
 

Loan deadlines will be modified according to the new timetable; all services will resume regularly  on Wednesday 7 January 2026.
