Borrowing for External Users

How to access loan services for non-University members 

Who can use the service?

External users may borrow books upon submission of a formal letter of guarantee signed by a University academic (Malleveria).
Users from partner universities and institutions follow the same borrowing conditions as institutional users. 

How does the service work?

To register, external users must present their completed guarantee form (Malleveria) at the library circulation desk. Registration is valid until the end of the academic year or the user’s affiliation period. For authentication credentials, please follow the library’s instructions. 

Borrowing conditions for external users: 

Maximum books6 books
Loan Period30 days
Renewal Period60 days

The loan period for course textbooks varies by subject area:  

 Biomedical & Science Humanities, Law, Economics & Social Sciences 
Loan Period30 days15 days
Renewal Period 60 days30 days

Requests for books via Minerva, the University’s online catalogue, allow users to select a preferred collection library.
Loans can only be renewed if the book has not been reserved by another user. Expired loans cannot be renewed. Books can be returned at any University library.
Late returns result in the same penalties as for institutional users.
