Prayer in the Ancient World is now available on Minerva. This critical handbook features an anthology of texts representing the main languages and religious traditions of Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean, up to Late Antiquity.
It includes Sumerian, Akkadian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Jewish and Christian prayers. The goal of the project, which will conclude in 2028, is to promote a cross-cultural and unbiased comparison of different conceptions of the divine.
