The University Library Service - SBA
The University Library Service (Servizio Bibliotecario d’Ateneo, SBA) supports teaching, study, research, and Third Mission activities within the University.
The University Library Service consists of:
- University Library Service Directorate (SBA Directorate) – the administrative structure responsible for the overall organisation and management of the library service.
- 17 libraries – organised under the SBA Directorate and grouped into four subject areas:
- Biomedical
- Law, Economics and Social Sciences
- Science
- Humanities
- The SBA Operational Planning Office, reporting to the Directorate.
- Two Sectors reporting to the Directorate:
- The Digital Library and Technological Platforms Sector, comprising two offices: the Digital Library Office and the Technological Platforms Office.
- The Library and Patron Services Sector, comprising two offices: the Office for the University Library Service Back-Office and Office for the University Library Service Front-Office
- Scientific advisory bodies supporting the SBA Directorate and the libraries, providing guidance and consultation:
- Scientific Library Directors
- Subject Area Scientific Committees
- University Library Committee (Commissione d’Ateneo per le Biblioteche, CAB)
