Anna Maria Brizio Collection

Anna Maria Brizio taught Medieval and Modern Art History at the University of Milan from 1957 to 1977. Her books and personal archive, donated at the end of her career, form a cornerstone of the library’s holdings.

Anna Maria Brizio (Sale 1902–Rapallo 1982) was an Italian art historian and a professor of Medieval and Modern Art History at the University of Turin and the University of Milan from 1957 to 1977.

  • Her personal library, comprising 3,263 volumes, was donated upon her retirement.
  • Her archive, including correspondence, university teaching materials, notes on artists, exhibitions, and conferences, as well as drafts for publications, has been catalogued in the “Archivi storici” section of the Lombardia Beni Culturali portal and in La Statale Archivi
