DEUMM Online

At the request of some musicology professors, a trial period has been opened for the DEUMM Online resource (Dizionario Enciclopedico Universale della Musica e dei Musicisti, which stands for Universal Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Music and Musicians). The resource will be accessible via Minerva until 31 May.
Edited by music historian and lexicographer Alberto Basso and published in 17 volumes between 1983 and 2005 by the Italian publishing house UTET, DEUMM is the most comprehensive modern music dictionary in the Italian language. The digital version has been enriched with updated and newly written entries covering all areas of global music research, from pop music to jazz, film music to world music, Western art music to ancient musical cultures, folk traditions to dance.
Interested users are invited to complete the questionnaire by the end of the trial period.
Subscription to the resource will be determined based on the responses received, as well as on financial resources available for 2026.
