About the Library
The Biblioteca di Biologia, Informatica, Chimica e Fisica (BICF) was established in 2019 following the merger of four pre-existing subject-specific libraries.
The library is housed in a three-storey building, two of which are open to the public. The space is bright and welcoming, designed as a large open-plan area with freely accessible shelving and comfortable reading tables equipped with power outlets, offering a total of approximately 210 seats. Users also have access to three computers for bibliographic research and two multifunction printers for self-service photocopying and printing.
With its extensive bibliographic collection, the BICF Library serves as an essential resource for teaching and research in the scientific disciplines, particularly for the four affiliated departments. The library holds over 73,000 monographs, 22,500 of which are available on open shelves, while the remainder is stored in the archive. Additionally, the collection includes approximately 2,000 journal titles, 110 of which are currently received through active subscriptions.
