The subscription provides access to the publisher’s 2025 catalogue, along with the opportunity for corresponding authors affiliated with the University to publish Open Access (OA) in the journals listed in the attached document. It should be noted that hybrid journals converted to gold OA during the contract period will remain covered by the agreement.

Green Open Access

Affiliates of the University of Milan (Unimi) have the right to publish their articles indefinitely, subject to a 12-month embargo from the date of acceptance. At a minimum, the post-print version of their articles (reflecting peer review modifications) may be made available on their personal website and/or the institutional repository as Open Access.

OA publications management

The corresponding author affiliated with the University may choose to publish in Open Access upon acceptance of their work, using their institutional email address. The contract allows OA publication while enabling the author to retain copyright under a CC-BY 4.0 licence.
The publication process requires the corresponding author to select the University as their affiliated institution before opting for Open Access. For articles with multiple authors, only the corresponding author who submitted the article is eligible as an affiliated author.

The process is centrally managed by CARE-CRUI, with final approval of affiliation validated by the Unimi Approval Manager. A dedicated author guide is attached.
