Maurizio Porro Collection

A journalist, theatre and film critic, Maurizio Porro donated a collection of 5,541 pressbooks to the Library in 2000. These pressbooks are promotional materials created and distributed by film producers to market their films.

The Collection also includes a variety of materials related to Porro’s work, such as typed documents, newspaper articles, and press kits, along with several important specialist magazines covering cinema, theatre, and music. It also features numerous theatre programmes from Italian and European venues.

• The serials and theatre programmes have been catalogued and are accessible via Minerva, the University’s online catalogue.
• The pressbooks can be consulted by appointment. For each pressbook, the original title, the Italian title, the director’s name, and the film’s release year are provided.
