Little Philosophers in the Library Special Collections

“Piccoli filosofi in biblioteca” (Little Philosophers in the Library) is a long-standing initiative led by the Biblioteca di Filosofia, supporting workshops for pupils in primary schools, which the library has been running since 2015. A dedicated website offers guidance and online resources in the field of “philosophy for children” and “philosophy with children”.

Alongside the workshops, the Biblioteca di Filosofia curates a dedicated book collection for young readers, including both children’s books and reference texts on philosophy with/for children aimed at teachers and educators. Unless otherwise stated, all books in the collection are available for consultation and loan. Teachers and educators interested in the collection may request access by writing to: biblio.filo@unimi.it.

The library is also responsible for the publication of the online magazine "Piccoli filosofi", designed especially for children. Each issue explores a specific theme and includes an explanatory guide for parents and teachers, an interview with a lecturer from the Department of Philosophy “Piero Martinetti”, book reviews, teaching suggestions, and games. The magazine welcomes collaborations with associations active in the field.
