Booking a Study Space

Who can use this service?

This service is available to students, researchers, academic staff, University personnel, and external users interested in consulting the collections. Registration with the University or University credentials are not required to make a booking. 

How does it work?

To use a study space in the reading rooms, users must make a reservation via the LezioniUnimi app or the online booking system. 
Bookings are not required for borrowing or returning books. 

How do I book a seat?

Refer to the English version of the booking platform and follow these steps:

1. Click on New booking.
2. Select the library where you wish to book a seat.
3. Choose the reading room or booking type.
4. Select the date, time, and duration of your booking.
5. Authenticate or enter your details:
   • Institutional users: Log in using University email credentials.
   • External users: Complete the form with your tax code, name, surname, and email address (if you do not have a tax code, contact the library).
6. Confirm your booking.

Bookings can be made up to 3 days in advance.
Some libraries offer same-day last-minute bookings. 

What happens after I book?

• Arrive at the library within 30 minutes of your booking start time. After this period, unclaimed bookings will be automatically cancelled.
• Check in with library staff to validate your booking; once validated, it will not expire after 30 minutes.
• When your booking ends, please vacate the seat to allow the next user to occupy it. 

What if...

• I need to cancel my booking? 
  Log in to the LezioniUnimi app or the online booking system. Go to Manage booking and cancel your reservation.
• I am late? 
  If you arrive within 30 minutes of your booking start time, your seat will still be available. After 30 minutes, unclaimed bookings will be automatically cancelled.
• I need to leave early? 
  Log in to the LezioniUnimi app or the online booking system. Go to Manage booking and cancel your reservation so the seat becomes available for other users.
• I need to stay longer? 
  You cannot extend an existing booking. Instead, make a new booking and speak to library staff to validate it.
