Interlibrary Loan for Institutional Users
This service is free and is available to registered users, academic staff, researchers, and University personnel.
Need a book?
The interlibrary loan service allows users to request books or other materials not available in the University of Milan libraries from other Italian and international libraries. If you need an article, essay, or book section (such as a chapter, index, or bibliography), please visit the Document Delivery for Institutional Users page.
How can I request an interlibrary loan?
If you cannot find a book in our catalogue, you can request it directly through Minerva under the ILL/DD REQUEST tab (Interlibrary Services Request) after logging in with your University credentials. Requests can also be made by email, in person at your reference library, or at the library covering the relevant subject area (see the contact list below).
How to request an interlibrary loan
How does the service work?
You can request up to three loans at a time. Requests are processed in order of arrival within three working days.
Loan conditions and durations are determined by the lending library’s regulations. Delivery times for books vary depending on the location of the lending library and the shipping method used.
Once the book arrives at the library, you will receive an email notification at your University email address.
If you do not collect the requested book within the specified timeframe, your borrowing privileges will be blocked for 20 days.
The BSGU (Biblioteca di Studi Giuridici e Umanistici) provides centralised interlibrary loan services for all users of the Via Festa del Perdono libraries.
