Sala Centrale. Law and Humanities Library

The main reading room offers 288 seats, a loan service for the eight BSGU rooms, and interlibrary services for the libraries in Via Festa del Perdono. Over 6,000 course textbooks in law and a selection of humanities materials are available on open shelves. The storage facility holds over 200,000 books and journals

21-22 July: Closure of SAFM and the Central and Common Law Reading Rooms at BSGU

Due to works taking place in the Cortile d'Onore at Via Festa del Perdono 7, the following facilities will be CLOSED on Tuesday 21 July and Wednesday 22 July:

  • The Library of Ancient Studies and Modern Philology (SAFM).
  • The following reading rooms of the Library of Law and Humanities (BSGU): Sala centrale and Sala Common Law. As a result, all services provided in these two reading rooms will be suspended during the closure period.

Depending on the progress of the works, additional closure days may be required. Further updates will be published as they become available.

BSGU. Partial reopening of Sala Centrale storage collections in Sala del Settecento

Starting from Wednesday 13 May, some collections affected by the installation works for the new compact shelving in the Sala Centrale storage have become accessible again for consultation and loan in the Sala del Settecento of the Law and Humanities Library. 

These consist of a selection of sections previously held in the Sala Centrale storage and now relocated to the Sala del Settecento in open stacks. Availability can be checked in the Minerva catalogue to verify their location. Further updates on the availability of these collections will be published on this page.

BSGU. Collections stored in the Sala Sottocrociera are available for loan and consultation

Sottocrociera collections (journals and books) are available for loan and consultation, as follows:

  • Journals: available for consultation in the Sala Centrale, upon request via email to info.bsgu@unimi.it; for organisational purposes, please submit requests at least one day in advance and await email confirmation before visiting the reading room.
  • Some books: may be borrowed via the Minerva catalogue, while others may be consulted in the same way as journals.

Please note that all journals with titles from BUL to IL PENSIERO will still not be available

More information on the reopening date of the Sala Sottocrociera and the related services will be communicated on this page as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience.

BSGU - The journals in the Diritto Pubblico section are not available

Due to maintenance work, the journals in the Diritto Pubblico section (call number 5G.PER) are unavailable for consultation.

If you need to access articles from temporarily unavailable journals, you can submit adocument delivery request to the Interlibrary Services Office of the Law and Humanities Library.
